HELLO INTREPID SAILORS!
Hello Intrepid Sailors,
We hope you are all doing well! The sun is shining, and gives us good vibes to share some news with you: the Solvay Sailing Cup 2022 will take place from Friday, September 16 until Sunday, September 18 on the Oosterschelde. Save the date!
Some changes are being introduced this year, with the aim of increasing freedom and flexibility for everyone, as well as keeping the cost under control for the participants:

Each crew rent or use the boat they want, where they want from the charter company of their choice. You want to be alone in your cabin, or you prefer to sail on a little boat and sleep on the deck? Up to you! :)

Each crew organises its own catering (food and drinks onboard). Chose what you will eat and drink with your teammates!
What does not change? The staff will still organise for you:

Drinks on shore, the Saturday night dinner and the party

The Sunday morning breakfast
-
The regatta, including security, course and refereeing with a professional Race Committee

Authorization and communication with the local Authorities
-
Reservations of places, overnight fees and taxes in the harbors

The mid-year drink at Genval on June 9 at 7pm (save the date!)

The global communication

A fire atmosphere :)
The participation fees is 190€ per crew member to be paid on the Solvay bank account. The detailed program of the weekend will be explained at the mid-year drink and published just after on the website. We can already communicate that the main departure point will be Sint Annaland with a first stop at Zierikzee and we plan to sail on the Oosterschelde.
Registration is open.

The participation fee has been adapted to the new program :

Please note that the price does not include the boat rental which has to be done and supported by each team. Participating with your own boat is allowed as soon as the Race Committee receives all the details for the rating.
You are entitled to a discount of 20€ if you have paid your 2022 Solvay Schools Alumni membership fee. Invoices can be obtained for the participation fee (add VAT on the global amount), feel free to contact us for further information.
The SSA Sailing Cup is open to all, members or non-members of the Solvay Schools Alumni.
Registrations are fully confirmed upon payment with one single bank transfer for the full team on the Solvay Schools Alumni bank account.

Think to mention as communication "Sailing Cup registration" and your team's name. Only full boat registrations are accepted. Anyway, teams of less or more than 6 or 8 are also possible.
And, if you do not have any team, we can include you in a waiting list and we will confirm your registration after confirmation that some teams have availabilities.
In case of bad weather conditions forecasted, the Organization Team has the right to cancel the event or part of it, with no refund even if the cancellation is decided on the day of the event. By registering to this event, participants agree to this.
In case the event takes place, as per the "World Sailing" rules (rule n °4): "The responsibility for a boat's decision to participate in a race or to continue racing is hers alone". By registering, the participants agree to comply with all the "World Sailing" racing rules, to follow all instructions given to them by the organizers (including to the extent they deviate from the racing rules) and more in general to do everything possible to preserve their safety and the safety of others. They expressly waive, to the fullest extent admitted by law, any potential liability of the organizers and their representatives. They will have to enter into an insurance policy with the boat rental company, but they need to ensure appropriate personal insurance to cover any other risks.
